Okay, so here’s the part where I take a break from politics to engage in one of my other loves, photography. In these photos, I joined my friends Erin and Chris as he records her flute performance. In my opinion, when photographing people, you have two options: posed photos or natural photos.
These are a good example, I think of natural photography, they do what they’re doing and I take pictures of the recording. None of them are posed and they show their raw emotions in the moment. Like the dissatisfaction of Chris and Erin in getting the perfect take, followed by the presentation of the final composition and her excitement at its outcome.
This is what I love about photography. Capturing that raw emotion and trying to tell a story with their faces and expressions, not words. To show someones overwhelming joy, or sheer frustrations, is why I do this. I’m still just learning, but no textbook can teach me to capture emotions. Maybe one day, I can tell a person’s life story in a few clicks of my shutter. This is one of my ambitions.
There is a poll going around: Should “Under God” be removed from the pledge?
Better question: Should we be blindly pledging our allegiance to this government at all?
I’ll pledge allegiance to the principles of liberty and justice. I just don’t see where that fits in with our government at all.
